It is not by accident that you are on this page, I don’t believe in coincidences. Hello, my name is Katalin Bátor-Hős, Bátor means Brave, Hős means Hero in English language. No, it is not a stage name, it is my family name :)

BHK201603_körI was born on the 4th of July, 1979.Why is this so important to mention? Well, because the word, independence, has been always an important one in my life. My mother is Russian, my father is Hungarian, and so I started off my life in an international and exciting environment. I love the Hungarian and the Russian food, culture and everything, growing up in a multiculti loving and supportive family was giving quite a good kick start in my life. A bit about my childhood:

I was a very open, cheerful child, loved to read, play, run, laugh, and all the things, which considered normal for a kid. When I started to go to elementary school, well that was when I started to feel somewhat different. I kept up being open and cheerful, but I was always somewhat “too cheerful”, and in school that was not always the best you can be. For you, readers in the US, you have to know, that in Hungary the school system is a bit different than in the US, in Hungary a bit stricter. So I didn’t “fit in” and because I was often told, that I don’t fit in, I started to feel myself kind of out of order. By the time I reached High School years, I was lacking self-confidence, self-awareness for sure. I was a really good student – if you consider the grades, -but if you would’ve asked me “Who am I?” – for sure I would’ve stared as if you if you were an alien. But something in me was moving and started to kick me out of my comfort zone. At the age of 15, I won a scholarship to the United States. This was in my Junior year in High school. Sometimes I wonder, how I had the braveness back then, to take this step. That was the moment when my life started to turn upside down, and when I started to find the real me. I arrived in the States for one year and stayed for two. I graduated from High School in Sheridan, Wyoming, and lived with a beautiful family, who had four children, all adopted from Russia. I still stay in touch with most of them, and I feel, they are part of my family too. I learnt I lot from them about life back then for sure. I am really grateful for it.

How and why I turned to be a therapist?

From the side of zero self-confidence, after the US, I experienced the other side of the coin. I put on LOT of so called self-confidence, but now I know, that was actually a “too much” thing. I was very open and funny and outgoing in my twenties. I wanted to be free. I traveled a lot, studied a lot, loved and worked in marketing, hospitality, logistic fields, but still I didn’t find that peace, that every spiritual, self-helping book is talking about.

The moment…

After years of searching myself in the outside world, something happened. I still remember the exact moment. I was working on a cruise ship, where the environment was fully international, exciting I’ve learned there a lot, about different viewpoints and beliefs. After a really hard day, where I felt that I have really reached my limits, went to bed, and after just a few hours sleep, I woke up. The ship docked that day in Mexico. Exhausted, tired of the usual 16-hour working day, but I felt so free inside me. Different, than ever before. I felt it in my whole body and soul, I knew I am okay here alone and I knew that I am connected with everyone. I didn’t just believe, that this was happening with me, I knew it from deep within. That was the day, I went and had my tattoo done on my back.

A butterfly with a Chinese sign in the middle of it- meaning: LOVE.

(you should know, I didn’t know it is the symbol of love, only when I returned to the ship and went to ask a Chinese person, what that means :)) I am happy that I had a good intuition, yes, it means love) Even though a lot of books and gurus say, that you have to find yourself, but to understand these words, You have to experience it yourself. That moment for me felt like, I am stepping out of a box, that is constructed by beliefs, values, history of our society, and I started to explore my new life, my new me, who was actually all the time with me, just hiding away. :)

Back to homeland:

After a while, I returned to Hungary, I started to study Psychology, Kinesiology, Soul therapy, Hypnotherapy, Life Coaching. I decided to become a therapist. I started to understand ME, mySELF better and deeper. I am still on this track, and will be as long I am here since this is the only way I can help others to see their own beautiful SELF too. This is a life-long journey, and I love it. In my personal life, I live in Pécs, Hungary with my loving husband and our beautiful children. One thing I really know, and I know every day more and more. Everything is within us, nobody can be more or less of a person because we are beautifully designed whole beings… we just have to find the keys to unlock those doors, which are locking us out from happiness. I hope I can help you to find your keys, to unlock your real SELF, so you can live a really happy life, you deserve. Which school or course could give me what I felt was missing? All of them and none of them. I finally came to understand what every book and guru After a while, I returned to Hungary, I started to study Psychology, Kinesiology, Soul therapy, Hypnotherapy, Life Coaching. And to do that all you need is you! My studies were important in helping me get to where I am but like my teacher would say
